HE SAID | “I met Stef at a mutual friend’s house. She caught my eye and I couldn’t help but pursue her. We went on a few dates before Stef disappeared to Europe to study for 6 months. We kept in contact while she was away and a couple of months after she returned we made our relationship official. Stef is the ying to my yang. She sees my convictions, accepts them and loves me for them. She’s understanding, loving and down to earth. What I see is what I get and she’s a stunner to boot!”

SHE SAID | “What he said! Alfie and I work well as a team and I couldn’t imagine doing this thing called life with anyone else. His proposal caught me off guard. We were at home getting ready to go for a walk when I turned around and saw him down on one knee. He had planned to propose when we got our puppy, but thought I was onto him so wanted to surprise me which he certainly did!”

YOU’RE INVITED | As a graphic designer, Alfie create the couple’s invitation suite. “In keeping with our colour scheme with accents of rose gold, our stationery was also modern in design. It matched our seating chart and place cards and featured rose gold foiling and a light marble background. It added that touch of elegance we were looking for complement the relaxed, grounded feel of our venue, Greenfields Albert Park.”

CEREMONY | Stef and Alfie’s outdoor wedding ceremony was a relaxed and intimate affair. “The ceremony was a reflection of our wedding planning process which had been easy and laid back. I’ve helped both my sisters plan their weddings and had sourced some fabulous suppliers which made lots of the decisions for our day so easy.” For Stef, one of the best moments was walking down the aisle and finally seeing Alfie. “It felt like forever since I’d seen him! We’d put a lot of time and effort into organising the day that it was an overwhelming feeling when we finally saw each other amongst everything we had envisioned and organised.”

Stef’s grandmother surprised her by coming to the wedding ceremony. “My papou, (grandpa) had only passed away 3 weeks before the wedding so it had been an emotional lead up but it was so meaningful to have her there.”

SUMMER VIBES | For their wedding flowers the couple selected a light palette of peach, light pink, blush and white. “In keeping with the beautiful surrounds at Albert Park, we wanted to have as much greenery as possible. We left it in our florist’s very capable hands and she put together the most stunning arrangements! The ceremony arbour and ceiling installations for the reception were the stand outs!”

“My family are notorious for being late! Luckily I was only slightly and I think fashionably late for the ceremony!” - Stef

Stef’s bridesmaids looked gorgeous in their structured fitted crepe dresses by Alex Perry.

GREENFIELDS STYLE | Stef and Alfie drew inspiration from their wedding venue for their decor. “Greenfields has great light fixtures, a decorative dance floor and mezzanine balcony. We loved these elements and given it was a summer wedding kept our styling fresh, clean and bright and ultimately quite minimal.”

The guests’ name cards were also the wedding favours. “We didn’t want to overcrowd the tables and found this to be a great solution. We had everybody’s name etched onto a rose gold disc which matched the rest of the styling and then they could take them home as a little keepsake. Our florist also made our arrangements so they could be taken home too. They were too beautiful to go to waste!”

SWEET TOWER | “Our cake was delicious. It had 3 tiers, dark chocolate syrup mud cake, coconut cake and lemon and coconut syrup cake. It was semi-naked and covered in vanilla swiss meringue buttercream. It was finished with decorative fresh flowers. Every last piece was eaten up!”

GREENER THAN GREEN | “Greenfields was the first venue we looked at and we fell in love with it instantly. The room was filled with lots of natural light and greenery which gave it an inviting atmosphere. We didn’t want a typical reception venue so Greenfields definitely ticked all the boxes. I’m sure like many brides-to-be I was nervous I’d made up my mind too soon but always go with your instincts!”

Alfie and his mum danced together to their favourite piece of Italian music, Portami a Ballare.
”As a surprise, my mum had pre-recorded herself singing the song and sent it to the band to play while we
danced. She used to be a wedding singer herself so it was very special.”

Stef and Alfie had their first dance to Jack Johnson’s song Better Together.

“Try not to compare your wedding or what you want for your wedding to others.
Follow your own feelings and intuitions and everything will work out perfectly!” - Stef

WEDDING TRADITIONS | For their wedding ceremony Stef and Alfie incorporated the Greek Orthodox tradition of the ‘Stefana’. “This is when crowns establish the couple as the king and queen of their home which they will rule with wisdom, justice and integrity. The crowns were the same ones my parents had used at their wedding,” Stef said.

COUTURE | Stef was the epitome of a gorgeous modern bride in her custom designed Luci Di Bella gown. It had a clean fitted silhouette with beaded lace detailing through the bodice. Alfie wore an almond coloured evening suit with white shirt, patterned tie and Italian-made brown soft leather loafers.
