Anh & Jack

Anh and Jack met at the State Library of Victoria 9 and a half years ago. "We were both in the library studying for our VCE exams. We met through mutual friends. To us marriage means the start of the rest of our lives together. It means to be there for each other through the good times and the bad times. We will never let anything kill our spark."

Bridal beauty

Anh wore a custom dress by Helen Manuell. "My dress had two looks. It had a fitted dress with delicate floral lace decoration over the bodice and skirt and it also had an outer skirt made of hundreds of panels of silk organza for a ball gown effect which gave me a more dramatic look for the ceremony. I wore the base dress for the reception. I absolutely loved my dress and loved working with Helen. She is such an amazing person and designer."

Anh's wedding heels, complete with gold butterfly wings were by Sophia Webster.

For her wedding day hair Anh chose a braided updo. "The floral hairpiece was from Ulyana Aster and my hair and makeup was done by the amazingly talented Miss Aimmey. For my makeup I had warm bronze, smokey eyes and pink lips."

If the suit fits

Jack's groomsmen wore custom made black tuxedos for the ceremony and changed into grey suits for the reception. Jack wore a white tuxedo jacket for the ceremony and changed into a 3 piece suit for the reception.

Pretty in pink

Anh's bridesmaids wore sweet baby pink dresses by Zimmermann. "The dresses had a gorgeous halterneck design and suited all the girls perfectly. Their gowns were paired with nude, strappy heels and Samantha Wills accessories."

Oh Paris!

Jack proposed to Anh in 2015 during a weekend away at the secluded Boroka Downs property in the Grampians. "Jack had planned to pop the question at sunrise however, I couldn’t get up early enough! So instead he asked me to marry him during breakfast. Jack had organised for some of our family and friends to film a short congratulatory clip, which he showed me after I said, 'Yes'. We had been talking about marriage for some time so it wasn’t too much of a shock but the biggest surprise was when Jack told me we would be heading to Paris to take our engagement photos. Paris is one of our favourite cities and we had an amazing time!"

Anh and Jack also returned to Europe for their honeymoon. "We left on Christmas day. We love travelling around Europe and in particular Paris. It was freezing but Paris is always beautiful."

A touch of France

Long admirers of all things Parisian, Anh and Jack chose Campbell Point House in Victoria for both their ceremony and reception. "Our ceremony was held beside Lake Conneware and the reception was inside the dining hall with its stunning arched windows, chandeliers and fireplaces. We both love Paris' architecture and manicured gardens and Campbell Point House had exactly that feel. We loved it as soon as we saw it!"

Floral styling

"Campbell Point House was already so beautiful and picturesque that all we felt we needed to do was add flowers and foliage. I love peonies and the wedding was booked during peony season. My bouquet consisted of white peonies and some silver suede. The bridesmaids’ bouquets had pink ponies and greenery."

For the reception, two long tables featured tall gold stands with masses of greenery, peonies and orchids. There were also smaller vases of peonies and budson the table. "Our wedding stylist was Joanie from One Wedding Wish. The team was such a pleasure to work with and incorporated all of my DIY elements into the overall aesthetic of the day."

"We started the reception with a traditional Chinese Lion Dancing performance. The reception literally began with a bang!"

Unique

"Jack and I celebrated our engagement with a party in November 2015. I made custom save the date cookies to give out to our friends and families at this event."

Jack and Anh's wedding theme was based around greenery, marble, white and gold. "I designed our wedding invitations which were embossed with gold and set on a marble background. On the day our guests received marble coasters which I decorated with each guest's name and so they doubled as placecards."

The most important 'meal'

Anh and Jack's wedding cake was created by Miss Ladybird Cakes. "We had a 3-tier cake with Snickers, white chocolate and raspberry, and citrus flavoured layers." The cake was decorated with fresh pink peonies. Guests were also invited to enjoy the dessert station which included treats such as cupcakes, slices, macarons and biscuits featuring the couple's wedding monogram.
