The theme for Maria and Mark’s wedding at Greenfields in Albert Park was Modern Luxe. “As our wedding reception was a cocktail party we wanted it to be elegantly styled with a relaxed feel.”
“Mark and I planned our wedding in 6 months, however we think we did the majority of the plans in the final 8 weeks. We had an adrenalin rush finalising all the last minute details.” Partners in the exciting new venue Greenfields Albert Park, the couple were the first to be married there. “We couldn’t have imagined hosting our wedding anywhere else and we always wanted a wedding with a garden setting. We still had builders at the venue on the day doing final touches!”
Inspired by wedding and event planner Colin Cowie’s work, Maria and Mark’s ceremony was set up as a circle. A cross of white runners met in the centre of the room where a gold, geometrical ceremony structure was beautifully decorated with white florals and greenery. “We captured the ceremony via drone!”
The wedding colour palette was navy, white and gold. White and gold arrow wire chairs and matching high tables evoked the Modern Luxe theme at the reception. Short structured floral arrangements of white peonies and roses were showcased. “We also had tall centrepieces in clear vases of orchids intertwined with gold branches.”
Maria wore a bespoke Vincenzo Pintaudi gown, “He is one of my very dear friends. The dress had a modern style with lace and sheer detailing.” Mark wore a custom, Arthur Galan royal blue jacket made from Italian brocade fabric. “It had black satin lapels and was paired with white pants for the ceremony and then he changed into matching royal blue pants for the reception.” Also complementing the theme were Maria’s bridesmaids, who wore alternating styles of navy lace dresses from Lover. Mark’s groomsmen wore denim coloured blazers with navy and white striped shirts and white pants.
Maria and Mark’s wedding invitation hinted at what was to come with a chic A5 design featuring navy letterpress. “One side had an image taken of us at our proposal and the invitations were sealed with a clear sticker with our logo in gold foil.”
Guests were treated to antipasto, seafood and dessert stations. “The stations incorporated our wedding colours and the seafood station had an amazing two-tier ice sculpture engraved with our logo.” The wedding cake was 3-tiers with a modern, navy and white designed pattern on the bottom tier, metallic gold in the middle and a white checked top tier. Sugar flowers trailed down the centre front.
“As Mark is in the music industry, our wedding favours were wooden USB sticks branded with our ‘Marmar’ (Maria and Mark) logo. On the USB was a copy of our proposal video and wedding music. They were displayed hanging from a tree of life beside our wishing well.”
